About Nature ReConnect

The biophilia hypothesis suggests that humans possess an innate need to seek connections with nature and other life forms.  Nature ReConnect aims to foster an environment where these connections can flourish naturally.

The goal is to provide opportunities that emphasize the importance of plants as a medium for wellbeing, encouraging every person to explore, learn and appreciate the natural world around them.

Nature ReConnect achieves these goals in the following ways,

  • Creating, person-centered, nature-based programs for small groups

  • Providing garden consulting and teaching services for anyone that wants to connect with gardening

These programs and services meet each individual where they are in their knowledge and abilities to provide enriching, engaging and accessible experiences.

Hello! I am the founder and passionate leader of Nature ReConnect. I have spent a lifetime tromping through the woods, looking at trees, growing gardens, and connecting people with plants.

Although my journey with nature started when I was a child, I received formal training at Colorado State University where I earned a degree in Horticulture. Shortly after college I secured a horticulture position at Denver Botanic Gardens where I grew as a horticulturist designing and maintaining gardens. During this time, I also found my passion for working with people. I attended the Horticultural Therapy Institute and was registered with the American Horticultural Therapy Association in 2009.

I spent two decades at Denver Botanic Gardens observing people and plant interactions. I created numerous programs, led hundreds of tours and educated countless numbers of people about the wonders of nature.

Through the years I have learned the importance of our connection with nature and I am dedicated to providing every person with an enriching experience no matter what age, ability or ethnicity.
